Our page design uses images taken from the wonderful set of digitised
manuscripts managed by the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
For those who do not know it already, this virtual library contains over
a thousand high quality digitised manuscripts, including many of the
sources of St. Gall notation: it can be found at
http://www.e-codices.unifr.ch/en.

We have used two images

  1. The document background, which shows outside the content area when using
a wide screen, is the start of the Te Deum taken from two pages of a
manuscript dated 1467. The contrast of the image has been much reduced
    for this purpose.
St. Gallen, Stiftsbibliothek, Cod. Sang. 440. ff.227v-228r (http://www.e-codices.unifr.ch/en).
  2. The image appearing at the left of the banner, except on the smallest
devices, is an extract from a page of a Graduale de tempore
illuminated by Claudio Rofferio, dated 1556-1559. It is the start of
a setting of Gloria in Excelisis Deo.
