Schola Requiem Mass

There will be a Requiem Mass in the Dominican Rite for All Souls and for deceased Associates, Benefactors, and Friends of the Schola, courtesy of the Prior of St Dominic’s Rosary Shrine, London NW5.

This will be offered on Saturday 2nd November 2024 at 2.30, preceded (from 11am) by a study of the sublimely-beautiful Missa pro Defunctis and general coaching in the singing of the Chant under our Director, Iain Simcock. Please arrive at the rehearsal room by 10.55am (if you can) to ensure a prompt start.

Since the various sung sections of the Mass vary in difficulty, whilst some will wish to approach the most challenging sections, we anticipate that all course attendees will at the very least wish to sing the Ordinary and, probably, participate in singing the ‘Dies Irae’ antiphonally.

Of course, anyone who wishes to join the worship as part of the congregation is most welcome.

Refreshments

We shall need to make our own arrangements for refreshments and lunch; there is a kitchenette, a room where packed lunches can be eaten, and there are cafés and pubs not far away.
